Sometimes you just need a puzzle or two to help you get through a really busy patch in class. Not just any old puzzle book or busy work though! Here’s a book of language focused crosswords for students that will help to reinforce new words and phrases for a range of topics across the curriculum.

They are suitable for individuals and groups, and are particularly helpful as language support for speakers of other language.

Each crossword is themed covering topics such as:

• Countries
• Famous people
• Space
• Occupations
• Animals
• Proverbs
• Rhymes

In addition to supplementing in-class activity, the puzzles can be copied and kept in a box to have ready for relief / substitute teachers, or supplied as fun and engaging homework activities. They are also useful to have available at library time. Students can identify key words in the questions and seek answers in the reference section of the library, or as an Internet search activity.
